Michal Motyčka se narodil 18. března 1974 v Praze, je architekt a umělec. Absolvoval fakultu architektury ČVUT v Praze (1992–2001), ateliér Sklo v architektuře prof. Mariana Karla na VŠUPv Praze (1995–2000), studijní stáž na Škole architektury prof. Emila Přikryla na AVU v Praze (1999) a studijní stáž v oboru skla na Rhode Island School of Design v Providence v USA (1999–2000). Zabývá se přesahem mezi architekturou a současným vizuálním uměním. Vystavoval mimo jinév mezinárodně respektovaných muzeích v dánském Ebeltoftu a Aarhusu a v belgickém Lommelu. Od roku 1999 spolupracuje s Václavem Ciglerem.
Michal Motyčka was born on 18 March 1974 in Prague. He is an architect and artist. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague (1992–2001) and from the studio of Glass in Architecture (with Professor Marian Karel, 1995–2000) at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design; he completed an internship at the School of Architecture (with Professor Emil Přikryl, 1999) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and received a research fellowship focusing on the field of glass at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island, USA (with Professor Bruce Chao, 1999–2000). He is a diverse multi disciplinary artist, and his work spans between architecture and contemporary visual art. He exhibited in internationally respected museums in Ebeltoft, Aarhus and Lommel. Since 1999, he works together with Václav Cigler.
